Bear River Campaign

Bear River Campaign Map
Map was used in campaign to stop dam that would have compromised conservation lands.
Client:   Sierra Watch

In a classic water grab, Southern California interests proposed to dam the Bear River and send Sierra waters south. Sierra Watch spearheaded a collaborative effort to protect the river’s surrounding ranchlands, abundant wildlife habitat – and the river itself.

GreenInfo created a map that shows what area would be flooded if the proposed dam was created, the location of the dam and how the dam would serve water districts as far as 470 miles from the Bear River. The map uses a standard graphic design approach developed by GreenInfo for Sierra Watch.

Results: The proposed dam was stopped - a victory for the Bear River and the Sierra Nevada!
