Dan Rademacher
Dan Rademacher has been Executive Director of GreenInfo Network since December 2015, when he took over for founder Larry Orman. Dan leads overall strategy for the organization while also leading many of our interactive projects with a focus on strategic communications, user-centered design, and innovative uses of geospatial and open source web and mobile technologies to achieve client goals.
Dan came to GreenInfo from Stamen Design, a leading web cartography firm, where he supervised all production work and client relationships on projects ranging from a social-media-powered park search engine (using CPAD) to an expert-focused chart library tracking the outcomes of Obamacare.
Dan also spent a decade as editorial director for Bay Nature Institute, the publisher of Bay Nature magazine and baynature.org.
From 2013 to 2017, Dan co-founded and then coordinated Nerds for Nature, an innovative all-volunteer group that brings together technologists, environmental professionals, and interested citizens to do grassroots projects for the greater good. He also serves on the board of Dorothy Day House Berkeley, which runs a shelter, meals program, and community resource center for the unhoused of Berkeley. He has volunteered as a breakfast shift manager since 2005 and joined the board in 2020 to help this growing grassroots group modernize its donor database and outreach efforts.
