Travis White

Travis White received his PhD from the University of Kansas, splitting his research between the design of usability studies and quantitative color use in maps. He is the Past-President of the North American Cartographic Information Society and co-chairs the Society's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, where he currently focuses on elevating awareness and societal backing for DEI initiatives and underrepresented topics such as accessible map design. During the work week, Travis is a cartographer and geospatial project manager for an engineering firm in Kansas City. In his free time, he enjoys making even more maps (no surprise there), stained glass, and fostering shelter dogs.
